The Relational Heritage of the Antichrist
Part 4 of 7
By Mike Wingfield
Our God is a God of incredible detail. Nothing escapes His knowledge or attention. He lives in the eternal present and has no past or future (Isaiah 57:15). The reality of His entire physical creation from the beginning to the end is spread out before Him in perfect order as directed by His sovereign choice and will. Ecclesiastes 3:1, 17 declares, “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. … for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.”
Our world is rapidly moving toward the end of this age as planned and orchestrated by the God of Israel. With amazing detail, the Holy Spirit has revealed much of God’s eternal plan in His written revelation – the Holy Word of God. It is our privilege to study the Bible and discover the secrets of God’s eternal will, written in the Bible. The Bible says, “The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law” (Deuteronomy 29:29). It pleases the Lord when His children pour over His Word to discover His heart and plan of the ages. God blesses those who want to discover His prophetic Word and live in light of what He is doing in their world.
The Book of Revelation was written to show God’s “servants things which must shortly come to pass” (Revelation 1:1). He gave it to His servants because He expects those who read and hear the words of His final book to “keep those things which are written therein” (Revelation 1:3). Servants care about the will and plans of their master. Only servants of God desire to know His will [the prophetic Word], so they may stay focused on their Master’s will. His will contains their instructions for living and serving their Master.
That is why many professing Christians are not interested in the Book of Revelation. They are not real servants of God. Jesus is not their Lord. They are interested in what He can do for them, but they are not concerned about their need to do for Him. If Jesus is not your Master, then you are not saved. The Bible teaches that when a person is saved, he is purchased with the blood of Jesus from the slavery of sin to become the slave of Jesus (1 Corinthians 7:23). The true believer repents of his sins and surrenders his life to Jesus as his savior and Lord. The Bible declares, “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10).
We are blessed to be living at the end of this age. Our world is being fashioned to conform to the desires of the King of Glory. At the center of these final days is the war between God and Satan. Satan is attempting to prepare his servants for his final showdown with God. At the heart of this plan is a person the Bible identifies as the Antichrist.
In this newsletter we will examine the relational heritage of the Antichrist. Satan’s preparation of this final hour has been in development for centuries. The beginning of this conflict goes back 4,000 years to the time of Abraham. Now, we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Join me as we examine some amazing details in God’s Word about the Antichrist.
For many centuries the cultures impacted by Jews and Christians, bury bodies facing east. See the picture below of the Jewish Cemetery on the Mount of Olives where all graves face east. Why? These people were aware that according to the Bible, the Messiah (Jesus Christ) will return to the earth from the east. Therefore, they believed that it was proper to bury people facing east so that when Christ returned, they would be resurrected facing east and would see the approaching Messiah.

While speaking about His Second Coming at the end of the Tribulation, Jesus said, “For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of Man be” (Matthew 24:27). As Jesus returns to the earth, He will come from the east (Isaiah 63:1-6) as He returns to the Mount of Olives to the east of Jerusalem (Zechariah 14:4). Then, He will go into the temple area through the Eastern Gate (Psalm 24:7-10).

This is what Jesus did when He came to earth two thousand years ago. At the time of His official presentation to Israel on Palm Sunday in 30 A.D., He approached Jerusalem from the east. After passing through Jericho, He came from the east and ascended the hills of the Judean wilderness. He stopped on the eastern slopes of the Mount of Olives near Bethphage and asked His disciples to go into this village to obtain a colt for Him to ride into Jerusalem in fulfillment of Zechariah 9:9. Then, He proceeded down the slope of the Mount of Olives and crossed over the Kidron Brook and through the Eastern Gate [see picture above] and into the temple area. So, there is great biblical evidence that the Messiah will come from the east to Jerusalem at the end of this age.
When Jesus spoke to His disciples in Matthew 24 about the signs of His coming, He warned them there would be many false messiahs (Matthew 24:5, 24). In verses 15-16, He focused His warnings to His disciples about a false messiah, the Antichrist. That false imposter would fulfill Daniel’s prophecy about the Antichrist coming to the temple at the midpoint of the seven-year Tribulation. The Antichrist would come into the temple and perform “the abomination of desolation” (Matthew 24:15). He, being a man, would enter the Holy of Holies in the temple and declare that he is God (2 Thessalonians 2:4). Jesus warned that the Antichrist would attempt to mimic the prediction that Messiah would come to His temple from the east and take His rightful seat in the Holy of Holies to rule over the nations of the world.
Jesus declared that the deception of the Antichrist will be so great that even many believers could be deceived. Jesus declared that some on that day will be proclaiming that the Messiah is “in the desert” (Matthew 24:26). The desert is east of Israel. Then, Jesus warned that some will declare that the false imposter of the true Messiah will enter the inner room of the temple (Matthew 24:26). Obviously, Jesus was warning His disciples that the Antichrist would mimic His return to Jerusalem from the east and enter the temple.
I believe a careful study of the overall context of the Bible reveals that the Antichrist will come out of the people of the east. His ancestry can be traced back to the descendants of Ishmael and Esau. Bible history and prophecy focuses upon a land and a people who are in conflict over God’s eternal plan and the Jewish occupation and ownership of that land. These are the same people whose land falls inside of the future boundaries of the Promise Land that will be given to the Jewish people in the Millennial Kingdom. The boundaries of the Promised Land are from the river of Egypt to the Euphrates River in present day Iraq (Genesis 15:18; Joshua 1:3-4).
The Bible declares that the area east of Israel has been where those who have rebelled against God have resided. When Adam and Eve were forced out of the Garden of Eden, they were driven east (Genesis 3:24). When Cain took refuge after he killed Abel, he went east of Eden (Genesis 4:16). The rebellion against God in the days of the Tower of Babel was by people who “journeyed from the east” (Genesis 11:2). The very first war in the Promised Land was a war when Abraham defeated the Kings of the east (Genesis 14:1-17). All the sons of Abraham who were not of the chosen seed, settled in the east (Genesis 25, 35). When Israel was defeated in Old Testament days, the Jewish people were held captive in the east in Assyria and Babylon.

According to Revelation 16:12, “the kings of the east” will assist the Antichrist in his invasion of Israel at Armageddon (Revelation 16:16). This reference of “the kings of the east” is the same as “the people of the east” (Genesis 29:1); “the children of the east” (Judges 6:3, 33); and the “men of the east” (Ezekiel 24:10). In the Bible, these people lived in what is called today Iraq, Iran, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia. Except for Iran, these people today are called “Arabs.”
All these people lived in the desert areas east of Israel. The ancient people in biblical times, associated the desert with the presence of evil and demons. See Jesus’ comments in Luke 11:24. In Jesus’s three temptations by Satan at the beginning of His ministry, He was tempted in the Judean Wilderness [see photo on this page], which is a desert east of Jerusalem (Matthew 4:1; Mark 1:13).
When Daniel spoke of the Antichrist, he identified him as belonging to “the people of the prince that shall come [to] destroy the city and the sanctuary” (Daniel 9:26). For many years, Bible scholars believed that Daniel was saying the Antichrist would belong to the people who destroyed Jerusalem in 70 A.D. History records that Jerusalem was destroyed in the name of the Roman Empire. Therefore, Bible students thought that this would indicate that the Antichrist would come from a revived Roman Empire. There is only one major problem with this interpretation. The headquarters of the Roman Empire was west of Israel. However, notice that Daniel simply said that the people of the Antichrist would be connected to the people who destroyed Jerusalem and its temple. In 70 A.D. the area of the Persian Gulf was a part of the Roman Empire.
When Jesus was born, the king appointed by Rome to rule over Jerusalem and the Holy Land was Herod the Great (Matthew 2). Herod was called “great” because of his massive building campaigns in Israel, especially the temple in Jerusalem. Herod was part Jew and part Idumean. His father was an Edomite and was a descendant of Esau. Herod attempted to win over the Jews by pretending to follow their religious practices.
However, Herod was an evil, immoral, murderer who made life very difficult for the Jewish people during his reign over them in the name of Rome. Rome hated the Jewish people and used the Arab population to the east of Israel as an expression of their animosity against God’s chosen people.
The people in the Arab region to the east of Israel are rooted in the heritage of Ishmael and Esau. Ishamel and Esau rejected the God of Abraham. They married wives who worshipped pagan idols. According to Exodus 20:1-6, there are spiritually two kinds of people. See the chart on this page. (below)
According to the Bible, the region to the east of Israel was settled by three genealogical sources. According to Genesis 25:12-16, Ishmael had 12 sons who became 12 princes, each one with his own tribe. The names of these princes and their tribes became significant Arab tribes in the area southeast of Israel.
After the death of Abraham’s wife, Sarah, Abraham married a woman named Keturah. According to Genesis 25:1-5, she and Abraham had six sons. Before he died, Abraham sent these sons away from him to live in the East. He wanted to make sure that Isaac would inherit all his land and wealth. The names of these sons also reflect the names of prominent Arab tribes in southern Jordan and Saudi Arabia.
According to Genesis 36, Esau had five sons. Some of them intermarried into the family of Ishmael. Genesis 36 gives a detailed report of these five sons and their influence in the Arab areas southeast of Israel.

I n the Bible, we learn of the hatred that Jacob’s sons had for their brother Joseph. They hated him because he was favored by their father. In a similar matter, we can only imagine the hatred and jealousy that developed between the brothers of Isaac and Jacob with their siblings Ishmael and Esau, respectively. This hatred and animosity have continued to this day. Satan has made it his aim to capture the hatred of the rejected descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob to rob the Jewish people of the promises God made to His chosen people. Therefore, Satan’s perfect choice for his master deceiver and murderer of the Jewish people at the end of this age would come out of the heritage of those who have hated the Jewish people for 4,000 years.
Today, the spiritual glue that holds together the Arab people is their religion – Islam. The Bible continually names these ancient descendants of Ishmael and Esau as those who will make war with the Jewish people in the last days (Psalm 83:1-12; Isaiah 34:5-6; Ezekiel 35:15; 36:5). According to the prophetic Word of God, Israel will continually face a growing threat of wars and rumors of wars with its Arab/Islamic neighbors. This is a war between the son of Isaac and Ishmael and the sons of Jacob and Esau. It is a war between the God of Israel and the god of Islam.

According to Islamic sources, there is a direct link between Ishmael and the prophet of Islam – Mohammad. Mohammad claimed to be a descendant of Ishmael. Muslims claim that Ishamel was the favorite son of Abraham. They believe that in Genesis 22, Abraham was about to sacrifice Ishmael instead of Isaac. The Muslims teach that Abraham and Ishmael settled in Mecca and built their shrine, the Kaaba.
As mentioned in our previous newsletters on this study of the Antichrist, our world is being directed toward a peace offer by the Arabs to Israel to bring about a cessation of war between the Jews and Arabs that date back to the time of Abraham. This current attempt to bring this peace is called the Abraham Accord.
The Bible teaches that this peace offer will be directed by the Antichrist, “the prince that shall come” (Daniel 9:26-27). It will be a seven-year treaty that will be broken three and one-half years after its beginning. Godless leaders in Israel will be tricked into believing this peace agreement will work (Isaiah 28:14-22). The confirmation of the treaty by the Antichrist and leaders of Israel will begin the time of Tribulation.
Daniel 8:25 declares that the Antichrist will be a master of deceit and magnify himself as he promotes a “peace [that] shall destroy many.” World leaders, including President Donald Trump, are living in spiritual darkness and are forging ahead with a false treaty of peace that will lead the world to Armageddon, costing the lives of billions of people.
The cry for “peace and safety” will lead to divine “sudden destruction” (1 Thessalonians 5:3).
This could happen soon. Be ready for the shout that will take us out!
Bitter Hatred and Division in the U.S.
It is a sad day to be living in the United States. We are glad that law, order, and sanity are being restored by the new administration in Washington D.C. However, there is growing opposition to this new leadership and all the good things they are doing for our country. How do we make sense of all of this? How should be pray?
First, we must understand that what is happening is more than what appears on the surface. This is something far greater than political power for control. This is an attack on God, His laws of truth and order, the family, and all that God promotes that is good.
From a biblical perspective, we are witnessing a militant minority in the U.S. that has no conscience or common sense. They have destroyed their conscience and are in league with demonic forces that seek to destroy all that is good for the glory of God. They have departed from the faith that is espoused in the Bible. They constantly lie and promote the doctrines of demons (1 Timothy 4:1-2).
They are described in Romans 1 as those who have departed from God and suppress the truth of God. According to Romans 1:21-22, they “became vain in their imaginations and their foolish heart [conscience] has been darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they have become fools.”
Later in Romans 1, these people are described as being openly immoral and supportive of same-sex relationships (verses 24-27). These people have been abandoned by God (verse 28). They are described as “being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful” (Romans 1:29-31). In essence, these people are bitter and filled with hate. They have murder and destruction in their hearts because they are acting like their father, the devil (John 8:44).
Most of these bitter agitators are socialists. They hate the freedoms that come with God’s way of government. They want to enslave Americans and force them into socialism and communism so that the ruling class can have all the power and enjoy all the wealth.
They do not want what is best for America. They want to destroy America and reshape it for their purposes. They love open borders, corruption, greater regulations, higher taxes and higher prices. That is why they are opposing President Donald Trump and the great patriots in his new administration.
We need to pray for these people. Only Jesus can set them free from the hatred and bitterness that is destroying their souls!
If you do not like my comments, then you do not understand the nature of God and His plans for Human government. I recently wrote a book on God and Government. In this book I also expose socialism as a godless form of government.

Americans need to read this book. Their eyes need to be opened to what God says about government. I am so burdened to get this book in the hands of Americans, that I am cutting the price of the book by 50 percent. In April, we will sell this book for $5.00. Please consider buying this book and sharing it with people in your family, church, at work, and in your local and state government. See the order form for the purchase of my book.
Peace or War?
According to the Bible, we are living in a volatile time that will lead to massive wars and violence around the globe. Recently, I read an article that indicates that the NATO countries in Europe are preparing for a massive attack by Russia. I encourage you to read this article, “7 Actions That NATO Countries are Taking Which indicate That Something Really Big is Coming,” by Michael Snyder. You can read this article on his blog at
