It is Happening!

The LORD of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand. … This is the purpose that is purposed upon the whole earth: and this is the hand that is stretched out upon all the nations. For the LORD of hosts hath purposed, and who shall disannul it? And his hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back?” Isaiah 14:24, 26-27

By Mike Wingfield

Friends, we are living in historic days that are paving the way for the final events of the last of the last days. Muslims all around the globe are passionately anticipating the sudden appearance of their long-awaited Islamic messiah, the mahdi. Religious Jews all over the world are saying we are living in biblical or Messianic times! Many Israelis are in awe of the hand of God and His divine protection over them in recent weeks in their war with Iran. Many godly preachers, such as the late John MacArthur and David Jeremiah, have been sounding the warning of the imminent approaching Tribulation Period and the Rapture of the church. Certainly, we are on the brink of dramatic events that have been anticipated by those who have been pouring over the prophetic Word of God for centuries.

I have been studying, writing, and speaking about prophetic developments for several decades. I have NEVER witnessed amazing developments like the ones taking place since Israel’s war with Iran has ended. Israel’s enemies in the Middle East and around the world are in awe of what Israel accomplished in Iran in 12 days. Iran and its Islamic proxies have been defeated.

During its war with Iran, Israel anticipated its aerial assault upon Iran would result in the death of many of their pilots. Many pilots who flew the first few sorties into Iran were prepared to die in defense of their nation. Some pilots testified that when they took off in Israel, they knew it was possible they would never see their families again. This was a dangerous mission. They wondered if Russia and China would join the battle in defense of Iran as they had previously agreed.

Amazingly, not one Israeli fighter jet was shot down. All pilots who joined in the mission against Iran returned safely home. Iran fired more than 500 ballistic missiles at Israel during this war. Only a few of these missiles eluded the Israeli and American defense systems and struck its intended targets in Israel. Several areas in Israel received great damage. However, only 28 Israelis were killed during this war.

Israelis are praising their military, intelligence agencies and soldiers for their bravery and dedication during this war. However, there is also an awakening in Israel that realizes God showed His miraculous hand for His people at this time. While soldiers fought, their families and nation prayed. God heard their prayers. The lion of Israel roared. The enemies of Israel trembled in fear. God defeated their enemies, just as He did in ancient days.

Long ago, the Holy One of Israel promised His people, “He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD is thy keeper …. The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore” (Psalm 121:3-5, 7-8).

Friends, I believe we have witnessed an event that has ushered in the final time leading up to “the day of the LORD’s vengeance, and the year of recompences for the controversy of Zion” (Isaiah 34:8). We call this time the Tribulation. This seven-year period will be the time when God will fight for His people and His land against the nations that have joined Satan’s rebellion against Him.

The set time for the Tribulation Period is now rapidly approaching. The Lord, as the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, will rise from His throne in heaven just before the Tribulation Period (Revelation 5:5) to prepare His people, angels, and all of creation to accomplish His will from heaven upon the earth. Speaking of this predetermined time, the psalmist wrote, “Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time is come” (Psalm 102:13).

Since the founding of the modern State of Israel, the Israelis have had to limit their ability to fly over enemy airspace. However, that has just changed. Israeli military jets are currently flying over the Middle East at will, without any opposition. Israel commands authority over the skies of their former enemies. This is unprecedented. We are now seeing the new Middle East. The nations of the Middle East, and the world now recognize the military and intelligence prowess of the State of Israel. The tiny nation of Israel is demonstrating that it is a military superpower that must be reckoned with!

Friends, when I examine the prophetic Scriptures, and the current events since the conclusion of Israel’s 12-day war with Iran, I believe we are witnessing the countdown toward two major prophetic events.

The Ezekiel 38 war is approaching!

According to Ezekiel 38:4, God is about to put a divine hook in the nose of the leader of Russia (called “Gog” in this text) to bring him and his coalition against Israel. That coalition includes Iran and Turkey, along with other radical Islamic groups.

Look where we are now! Russia has exhausted its military and economy in its war against Ukraine since February 2022. Europe is siding with Ukraine. U.S. President Donald Trump has recently leveled a 50-day ultimatum to Russian President Vladimir Putin to conclude this war with Ukraine. If he does not submit to this ultimatum by early September, the U.S. has threatened to increase trade tariffs on Russia and all those who do business with them (including Iran, Turkey, and China) to 100 percent. Will these nations consider this a declaration of war against them? Could this trigger a rage of vengeance from Russia and Iran to invade Israel? Could this be the hook that God will use to bring these nations against Israel to supernaturally defeat them on the mountains of Israel (Ezekiel 38:16-23)?

Ezekiel 38 mentions four unique things about this Gog and Magog invasion of Israel. First, it will happen in the last days (38:8,16). Second, these nations will be motivated by an evil thought against Israel (38:10). This evil thought will cause them to invade Israel to plunder the wealth and food that is in Israel (38:12). Third, this attack upon Israel will happen at a time when Israel is dwelling “safely” in its land (38:8,11). The Hebrew word “safely” means the Jewish people are living with a sense of military confidence in their land. With the defeat of Hamas, Hezbollah, Syria, and Iran, the Israelis now have military confidence. For 46 years, Iran threatened to wipe Israel off the face of the earth. Now, it appears Iran’s nuclear threat has been averted.

Fourth, this invasion of Israel will cause Saudi Arabia and some younger western nations to question Russia and its allies concerning their reason for attacking Israel (38:13). In light of the current situation this response would seem very appropriate.

Iran’s evil radical Islamic regime has been humiliated and suffered a setback by Israel and the United States. I believe the Russian and Iranian coalition will be driven by God to make their move against Israel in the very near future. It is getting ready to happen!

The Antichrist’s False Peace Agreement is on the Horizon!

This defeat of Iran and its allies is sending political tremors throughout the Middle East and around the world. Israel is emerging as the moral global superpower. In this war on evil, Israel was the only nation that stood up to the Islamic global threat. Furthermore, in the Middle East Israel is viewed as the regional military superpower. The nations of the Middle East have learned they cannot depend upon the United States as a stable ally that can be trusted. During the Obama and Biden administration years, the Arab nations of the Persian Gulf felt betrayed by the United States. The U.S. Democrat administrations did not attempt to stop Iran’s march toward nuclear weapons. Tragically, they funded Iran’s nuclear ambitions and terrorist activities.

There is currently a feeling in the Middle East that while the U.S. has a strong and reliable administration, the Middle East needs to create a foundation of security that will outlast the growing concerns of the political division between the Democrats and Republicans in the U.S. These concerns are fueling an urgent need to expand the Abraham Accords that began in 2020 under the leadership of President Trump in his first term and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

At this time, there is a call by the nations of the Middle East for the immediate expansion of the Abraham Accords. Only days after the Iran war was completed, the sign pictured on this page appeared in Tel Aviv.

It appears to me that all the biblical details we have about the false peace covenant between Israel and the Antichrist are now on the table in the Middle East. While there have been many attempts to bring peace to the Middle East for decades, it appears the time is now ripe for this event that will begin the Tribulation Period.

The context of Daniel 9 informs us that the Kingdom of God will come to earth after a period of 70 groups of seven years (490 years) have expired. A study of Daniel 9 demonstrates that 483 of these years were completed with Israel’s rejection of Jesus the Messiah in 30 A.D. This leaves seven more years to transpire on God’s prophetic calendar in heaven before the Kingdom of God can be ushered in upon the earth for 1,000 years. That final seven years is the same as the seven years of the Tribulation Period, which is confirmed by the chronology presented in the Book of Revelation.

This means that Daniel 9:27 indicates the final seven years of God’s prophetic calendar will begin when “the prince that shall come” (Daniel 9:26) will “confirm the covenant with many for one week [a group of seven years].” The Hebrew word “confirm” means to strengthen that which is weak. This would indicate this covenant of peace with Israel has a history of previously being weak prior to the Antichrist. The Antichrist will simply strengthen the current failing agreement that had been offered to Israel before.

Since the founding of the modern State of Israel in 1948, the world has watched as there have been many attempts to bring the Arab Muslims and the Israelis to the peace table. All these former peace agreements have miserably failed.

It is very important to note Daniel wrote that this covenant would include the many” (Daniel 9:27). The definite article, “the,” does not appear in the English text, but it is in the original Hebrew text. This would mean this agreement between the Antichrist and Israel will include others as well. The use of the word “the” would indicate this is a well-recognized group that is being designated.

The Old Testament and New Testament prophetic Scriptures indicate 10 kings who are contemporaries with the Antichrist will precede him in his agreement with Israel. In Daniel 7, the prophet saw in his vision a wild beast representing the final kingdom of the Antichrist. This beast was pictured with 10 horns (verse 7). Following the appearance of these 10 horns, another little horn appeared. Most scholars agree this little horn represents the Antichrist.

Daniel 7:23-24 gives us the interpretation of the previous verses in this chapter. “Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces. And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them….”.

In this text, the symbolism of the horns point to kings. Notice that the 10 kings precede the Antichrist. As expected, this is exactly what John wrote about in Revelation 17:12-13.

As the world watches the efforts to bring peace between the Arab/Muslims and Israel, we are witnessing the formation of the Abraham Accords. Prior to this time, six countries have formally recognized Israel and have signed an agreement of normalization with the Israelis. They are Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco, and Sudan.

As previously mentioned, there seems to be a push to complete the dreams and ambitions of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and American President Donald Trump to bring peace to the Middle East. There seems to be some chatter that it may take place sometime this year.

All these talks seem to revolve around one man and one nation – Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Everyone agrees, the Arab Muslims all look to Saudi Arabia as their spiritual center. This nation is the founding nation of the history of the religion of Islam. It is the location of Islam’s two greatest places of worship – Mecca and Medina. One of the crown pillars of the religion of Islam demands that every Muslim must attempt to make at least one pilgrimage to Mecca during their lifetime.

A secular book about Saudi Arabia and Mohammed bin Salman [MBS] was just released. This book was written by Karen Elliot House, a former executive of Dow Jones and Company, and a publisher of the Wall Street Journal. Her book represents years of meticulous eye-witness accounts and research on this man and his very influential country. This book is entitled, The Man Who Would Be King.

This book portrays MBS in his rise to power over one of the most powerful families to rule Saudi Arabia. She writes about his ruthless maneuvers to seize and control power. He has an ambition to make himself and his nation the center of the world, religiously, politically, economically, and commercially. He desires to make his nation the center of the technological advances that will rule over the world.

This book states that MBS realizes he is dealing with a limited amount of time to bring his plan to fruition. He realizes he must diversify his nation’s source of income. Currently, about 75 percent of Saudi Arabia’s income comes from oil. Unless other sources of oil are discovered in the sands of Saudi Arabia, it will exhaust its reserves “in about twenty-six years” (page 213).

The author of this book, who closely follows global politics and economic power, states, “what happens in Saudi Arabia impacts the wider world’s economic and political future” (page 13). She concludes, MBS’ “determination to play an independent and assertive role on the world stage to put ‘Saudi first’ inevitably will impact America and the economic security of the world for decades to come” (page 14). She writes, MBS “is the first Saudi leader to seek a prominent role in global politics since the Islamic conquest 1,400 years ago” (page 164).

MBS’ goal is to radically alter Saudi Arabia to unify the many powerful religious Islamic tribes into a unified country. He wants to transform his nation into a moderate Islamic nation that will appeal to all the citizens of the world. He has ambitious plans to create a major commercial and banking center called Neom. This city, which is located in the western part of the country, will be 33 times larger than New York City and is already under construction.

The center of his dreams and ambitions is to make peace with Israel. MBS needs Israel to make his dream come true. House writes, “The Crown Prince doesn’t intend to conquer Jerusalem but rather cooperate with Israel to meld its technological prowess with Saudi money to transform the kingdom into a new Silicon Valley of entrepreneurship” (page 165).

Prior to Hamas’ invasion of Israel in 2023, the world had agreed to create the India-Middle East – Economic Corridor (see image on this page). This plan calls for all regional commercial goods to be transported by sea and rail from India through Saudi Arabia and Israel, and then to Greece into Europe. Obviously, this plan perfectly fits with MBS’ goal to make Saudi Arabia the center of the political/economic world.

The threat of Iran in the Middle East was a major obstacle of this plan. Now, with Israel’s defeat of Iran, this plan can be realized. One major hurdle must be overcome to make this dream a reality. Since the invasion of Israel by Hamas, Prime Minister Netanyahu and his nation are united behind the commitment to oppose the creation of a Palestinian State on the West Bank. If Netanyahu and his administration would give in to the demand for a Palestinian State, it would lose the support of its people and would be voted out of office. Some fear Netanyahu could be assassinated for allowing the creation of a Palestinian State on land that God gave to the Jewish people 4,000 years ago.

MBS has stated that Israel must recognize a Palestinian State on the West Bank with Jerusalem as its capital before he will establish an agreement with Israel. He wants to make peace with Israel, but his people hate Israel because of the Arab media. If he would offer Israel peace and recognition, it would probably cost him his life.

In July, a powerful group of Arab Islamic sheikhs (see photo of the most prominent sheikh) in the city of Hebron, Israel, declared they are ready to split from the Palestinians and make a separate peace with Israel. They stated they would rather be under the authority of the Jewish State of Israel than to be a part of a Palestinian State. They simply want to have local political authority over their own people, while enjoying the benefits of being a part of Israel. This may sound strange to us. However, the Arabs living in the Middle East have lived under the local tribal rule of their religious leaders for centuries. This was their arrangement for 500 years under the rule of the Ottoman Turkish period from 1517-1917. The idea of national states is foreign to their thinking. The current Middle East states were created by the British after World War II and forced upon the inhabitants of this region. This is the root cause for many of the wars and conflicts in the Middle East in the last 100 years.

According to Isaiah 28:14-22, secular Israeli leaders will adopt a covenant with their enemies to avoid war and make peace. This passage states this agreement will be rejected by the Israelis who have the Messianic hope and cling to the land God has given them (verse 16). In this text, God warns that this covenant will fail and bring great terror and war to Israel (verses 17-20). Finally, this passage promises that God will supernaturally rescue His people when the major war comes against them at a time when the world is being destroyed (verses 21-22). It is apparent that this passage is a commentary on the covenant of the Antichrist and the results it will bring during the Tribulation Period.

A powerful group of 10 kings will form the Abraham Accords, perhaps in the next few weeks or months. These men will pave the way for the Antichrist to join them in their recognition of Israel. We must not forget that this is a huge step for Arab/Muslim leaders who rule over people who have been taught to hate the Jewish people and to oppose their occupation of the Promised Land. To become a part of this group takes courage and a lot of risk is involved.

Friends, it is very apparent that this covenant is on the immediate horizon. A likely candidate to become the Antichrist and to carry out the details of the prophetic Scriptures is now in place, along with his plans to rule the world from his location on the Persian Gulf (Revelation 17-18).

Remember, before these kings sign the covenant with Israel, we will be taken to heaven in the Rapture! Get ready for the shout that will take us out!
