In Israel’s war with Gaza, we have been faced with many false rumors and lies about the Jewish people. The enemies of Israel, those who hate Jews and God, are filled with hate and delight to twist the truth to lure people into a web of evil. The Bible teaches that the enemies of Israel are the enemies of God (Psalm 83). More than 4,000 years ago, the Lord called the Jewish people into a special relationship with Him (Genesis 12:1-3). He called them to be His unique witnesses to display Who He is. He gave them the highest standards of moral conduct in the law of God, which are summarized in the 10 commandments (Exodus 20:1-17).
Israel’s army is called the Israeli Defense Force (IDF). Notice the word defense. If the world would take the time to read the Bible and to examine the pages of modern history, they would discover that the Jewish people are a people who love life and love people. They treat people with great respect, believing that human beings have been created in the image of God. When the IDF enters into battle they carry with them the moral foundation they have been taught in their homes and in their synagogues. There is no other army in the world that can make this claim.
I have been to Israel many times. I have witnessed the incredible respect and care that is offered to those who live in Israel. Unfortunately, those who hate Israel and are attempting to kill them must be treated differently. The Jewish people have the right to defend themselves against those who want to annihilate them. This is why their army is called the Israeli Defense Force.
