China’s Threat to the United States

In an excellent recent article for Gatestone Institute, Lawrence Franklin, who was on staff with former U.S. Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld and a high-ranking officer in the U.S. Air Force Reserve, wrote about China’s current threat to the United States. Since the U.S. is not a leader of the world in the biblical account of the end-times, this article should be of great concern to us.

“China is fully engaged in a multi-front war against the United States. This “unrestricted warfare” against America has several dimensions: technological, space, military, political, economic, digital, psychological, informational and diplomatic. In fact, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) openly declared a “people’s war” against the US in a May 14, 2019 edition of the People’s Daily.

“The CCP, led by Chinese President Xi Jinping, has, over the years, by espionage, intellectual property theft, hacking, spying and militarizing artificial islands, initiated a bitter conflict between China and the US. …

“China also has more than 28,000 migrants who have illegally crossed the US southern border – many clean-cut men of military age, unaccompanied by family, who show up in groups. One cannot just leave China the way one leaves the US. It is difficult, therefore, not to suspect that these men have been sent by the CCP as sleeper cell saboteurs, waiting to inflict small but deadly strikes on American infrastructure, such as electric grids, airports, water reservoirs, communications towers, bridges, tunnels, shopping malls, apartment complexes, and so forth” (Gatestone Institute, December 20, 2023).

Be Careful What You Say

Yesterday, Tuesday, December 12, a Turkish lawmaker, Hasam Bitmez, was railing against Israel because of its war against the Islamic Terrorist group, Hamas. During his rant he said that Israel would “not be able to escape the wrath of God.” Upon making this remark, he immediately, while on air, collapsed, suffering a massive heart attack. He is still listed in serious condition after this incident.

It is apparent that our God of mercy does not immediately strike down everyone who speaks against Him or His people, Israel. However, He has declared, “Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish. Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought” (Isaiah 41:11-12).

The entire world would be wise to understand that what happened to this Turkish lawmaker was not a coincidence. The fact that he had a massive heart attack immediately after condemning Israel and slandering the One and only true God is not an accident!

The prophecy of Psalm 2 is being fulfilled with incredible detail. The people and the leaders of the world are against God and His people, Israel. God has warned them, “Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him” (Psalm 2:10-12).

Let us pray for Hasam Bitmez. Perhaps he will survive this ordeal and have a change of heart like Nebuchadnezzar in Daniel 4.

The Moral Danger Facing the West

For years I have been alarmed that, according to the Bible, when the end of this age comes Western civilization will not play a major role in the global end-time developments. I have wondered what would happen to the West. It is now becoming very clear concerning the mortal danger that is facing the West.

Like a trojan horse, the Communists and Muslims have infiltrated the West and have sown seeds of hatred for God’s law and God’s people – Israel and the church. The reaction of the world to Hamas’ invasion of Israel, and the inhuman atrocities committed by them, are being opening supported in the West. At the same time, a dangerous hatred for Israel is exploding across the globe. This signals that the West is in a free-fall spiritually, morally, educationally, politically, economically, and militarily. History demonstrates that the moral collapse of a culture always leads to its demise.

When a culture celebrates death, the mutilation of children and innocent people, and brainwashing children to hate and murder innocent people, it is the end of civilization as we know it. This is what is being accepted and praised in our world. The prophecies of Psalm 2 are coming to pass before our very eyes.

“Hatred of Israel, often meaning Jews, is reaching an alarming level throughout the Western world. The support for a movement calling for the genocidal destruction of Israel by hundreds of thousands of people in Western Europe and the United States should probably be seen as a wake-up call. American columnist Dennis Prager told the British newspaper the Daily Telegraph: “Supporting Hamas is like supporting Nazis in WW2.”

“In a recent interview, Éric Zemmour, leader of the French political party Reconquest, said that by carrying out a genocidal attack against Jews in Israel, Hamas attacked Judeo-Christian civilization itself. He quoted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who had noted that Israel’s battle against Hamas is a battle of civilization against barbarism. Zemmour added that support for Hamas in the West shows that many Muslims living there behave as enemies of civilization, and when they receive support from the “Left”, it shows that now the “Left” are also enemies of civilization. He concluded that if, in the West, the processes of a genocidal hatred of Jews continue unhindered, it means that “the West is in mortal danger” and could die” (Guy Millere, Gatestone Institute, November 29, 2023).

The Gathering of Gog and Magog?

According to Ezekiel 38, in the last days, a massive number of ground troops will gather on the Golan Heights in Syria for an invasion of Israel. They will include troops from Russia, Iran, Turkey, and other radical Islamic nations. This battle is called “the Gog and Magog War.” The following report indicates that since October 7th, troops are beginning to gather in this very same location for a ground invasion of Israel. Could this be the beginning of the gathering for Gog and Magog?

“The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), a research group associated with the Syrian opposition, this week reported that 700 pro-Iranian fighters have been deployed in the area adjoining the Golan Heights. The fighters, according to the SOHR report, are of “Syrian, Iraqi, Palestinian, and other nationalities.” They have been deployed in the countryside of Quneitra Province, the area immediately adjacent to the Golan Heights, and in ‘western Rif Dimashq and parts of western Deraa countryside.’” (November 25. 2023, Jerusalem Post online edition).

They Meant it for Evil

God has demonstrated that He will bless His chosen people. He has called and blessed them since the time of Abraham. Even in the midst of suffering and loss, God has blessed His people. When Satan and his evil minions attempted to harm Israel, the Lord displayed His faithfulness and sovereign power by defeating Satan’s attempts to harm His people. Not only does He defeat the devil and evil, but God turns the attack into a blessing.

Iran and its proxy terrorist groups have intended to threaten Israel with annihilation. However, while Israel has suffered great loss, it is leading to a greater blessing for Israel and Jews around the world. Like Joseph said to his brothers, “You thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive” (Genesis 50:20). For many years, the Jewish people wondered about the apparent absence of God in their defense during the Holocaust. However, this horrific time ultimately opened the doors for the creation of the modern state of Israel. God turned their suffering into a praise.

The Lord has chosen to use suffering to bring about His perfect will in His people. Concerning Israel, the Lord has said, “I haven chosen thee in the furnace of affliction” (Isaiah 48:10).

Israel suffered great loss on October 7th. However, now the hand of God is pouring out many blessings upon the Jewish people. The Jewish people in Israel and around the world are experiencing a unique spirit of unity unlike anything in modern times. There is presently a spirit of sweet unity and comradery in Israel among all Jews. As a result of the explosion of antisemitism around the world, many Jewish people are planning to immigrate to Israel. The largest pro-Israel rally took place in Washington D.C. on November 14, 2023. (See photo.) The greatest blessing is the spiritual revival that is taking place in Israel. Israelis are seeking the face of God. It remains to be seen if this is the beginning of the great movement of salvation that will culminate in Israel during the Tribulation.

This certainly demonstrates that “If God be for us, who can be against us” (Romans 8:31)?
