A New Middle East Emerges

An examination of the post-war results of Israel’s 12-day war with Iran indicates we are watching the emergence of a new Middle East. For 46 years Iran has destabilized the nations in the Middle East. Iran continued to flex its evil muscles to gain superiority and exert complete control over the nations of the Middle East. Iran wanted to use its position in the region to control the world and prepare the way for their Islamic Messiah and his evil global kingdom. From their perspective, they have not given up on this goal. At some later point, they will join Russia, Turkey, and other Islamic enemies of Israel in the Gog and Magog invasion of Israel mentioned in Ezekiel 38.

Iran and its proxies were defeated by Israel in 20 months since October 7, 2023. Before Hamas’ invasion of Israel, it appeared that Iran and its proxies had the nation of Israel in a death grip that would by all human perspectives eventually lead to the demise of the only Jewish nation in the world. Now that the death grip has been annihilated, not only Israel, but the entire Middle East can breathe a temporary sigh of relief.

About three years ago, Iran signed a defense pact with Russia and China that promised they would help defend Iran against any future aggression. When Israel attacked Iran on June 13, all of Iran’s allies stood by and offered no support. Hamas, Hezbollah, Syria, the Houthis in Yemen, Russia and China did not come to Iran’s aid. In 12 days, with the help of the United States on the last day, Iran and its allies were completely silenced.

This defeat of Iran and its allies is sending political tremors throughout the Middle East and around the world. Israel is emerging as the moral global superpower. In this war on evil, Israel was the only nation that stood up to the Islamic global threat. Furthermore, in the Middle East Israel is viewed as the regional military superpower. The nations of the Middle East have learned that they cannot depend upon the United States as a stable ally that can be trusted. During the Obama and Biden years, the Arab nations of the Persian Gulf felt betrayed by the United States. The U.S. democrat administrations did not attempt to stop Iran’s march toward nuclear weapons. Tragically, they funded Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

There is a current feeling in the Middle East that while the U.S. has a strong and reliable administration, the Middle East needs to create a foundation of security that will outlast the growing concerns of inward division in the U.S. These concerns are fueling an urgent need to expand the Abraham Accords that began in 2020 under the leadership of President Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamen Netanyahu.

It is apparent that there will be an immediate call for the expansion of the Abraham Accords. Only days after the Iran war was completed, the sign pictured in this article appear in Tel Aviv.

From a prophetic perspective, it appears we are watching the formation of the 10 kings and their nations (Daniel 7:7, 24; Revelation 17:12-14) that will join the Antichrist in forming the false peace covenant that will begin the Tribulation. If this is correct, we are rapidly moving toward the event that will begin the Tribulation Period. This simply means the Rapture of the true church is imminent!

Get ready for the shout that will take us out!

Vigilance, Excitement, & Prayer

After the combined attacks of Israel and the United States of America upon the evil Iranian regime, where do we go from here? As believers in Jesus Christ and students that trust the biblical prophetic world view of the last days, we have a great advantage. While we do not have a complete revelation about all things and their exact timing, we do have an accurate big picture of our world in these last days. As I think about this, these three words come to mind: vigilance, excitement, and prayer.

The attack upon Iran and its proxies since October 7, 2023, have been aimed at the defeat of the goal of the radical Islamic regime in Iran to destroy Israel and the United States on their march toward global supremacy. We must not make the mistake of thinking that the removal of Iran’s nuclear arsenal and its terrorist activities has delivered the final death blow to the Islamic goal to rule the world. According to the prophetic Word of God, we know that an evil remnant of the Iranian leadership will survive their present defeat at this moment. They will retain and revive their diabolical plot to destroy Israel and join Russia and other radical Islamic groups in the future Gog and Magog war in Ezekiel 38. They are mentioned in Ezekiel 38:5 as “Persia.”

Furthermore, I believe the Bible teaches that the Antichrist will be a Muslim and will force his evil Islamic kingdom upon all nations during the Tribulation. The false peace covenant of the Antichrist will be an agreement between Muslim nations and Israel. It is chilling to recognize that the evil regime of the Antichrist will spread its war, terrorism, and evil doctrine across the world. It is a fact that both Sunni and Shiite Muslims have plans to create a global Islamic kingdom.

Many prophetic passages show that the final battle of this age, Armageddon, will bring all the Islamic nations against Israel at the end of the Tribulation (Psalm 83:1-8; Isaiah 34:1-8; Ezekiel 35:1-36:7). Therefore, this war with Iran does not end the threat that Islamic regimes have against the free world.

This is a spiritual war against God. What we are witnessing is the earthly extension of the war between God and Satan in the spiritual realms. This war will continue into the final days of the Tribulation Period. At the heart of this war is the security and survival of the Jewish people and the nation of Israel (Revelation 12). This is a holy war for the holy land and the holy city of God, Jerusalem (Psalm 2). Therefore, we must be very vigilant in our efforts to live and serve our Lord in these last days.

Second, we should be excited. The war with Iran against Israel is a clear indication that the world is marching toward the end of this age. It is my opinion that the war with Iran will trigger the Gog and Magog war of Ezekiel 38. It will also change the balance of power in the Middle East and set the stage for the false peace covenant of the Antichrist with Israel. Sometime during all of this, the trumpet of the Lord will sound and call us home to heaven. This should excite us!

Third, this should cause us to pray more fervently. We need to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Please pray for the Israeli leadership as they defend the nation of Israel. We need to pray for the lost around us as the world increasingly calls for peace and safety (1 Thessalonians 5:3). We need to pray for President Trump. He is hated by many in our nation and around the world. The Lord has raised him up for such a time as this! His sudden removal could change our nation and world instantly. We need to pray for the pastors of the churches in America and around the world. They need to wake up and understand the times in which we are moving. They need to proclaim the prophetic Word of God and warn the world of the approaching wrath of God and Satan at the end of this age. We need to pray for the Lord to give us wisdom to know how to live and provide for our families and churches in these last days.

We are living in historic times. We need to be “redeeming the time, because the days are evil” (Ephesians 5:16).

Tensions in the Middle East Escalate as Israel Readies to Attack Iran

All indications point to a very strong possibility that in the next few days Israel will attack Iran’s nuclear installations. The U.S. nuclear talks with Iran seem to be falling on deaf ears within the Iranian leadership. President Trump is now stating than he is less confident of Iran’s compliance with the demands spelled out in ongoing nuclear negotiations. In defiance of American demands, Iran has openly vowed to ramp up its enrichment. Furthermore, the International Atomic Energy Agency a few days go “passed a resolution declaring that Iran is in noncompliance with its nuclear safeguards obligations” (Times of Israel News, June 12, 2025).

It is apparent that Iran will not give up its nuclear ambition. They consider this a major part of their plan to destroy Israel on their march toward the establishment of a global Islamic republic, eventually headed by their Mahdi [Messiah]. Israel understands this more than anyone else in the world. Intelligence indicates that Israel will strike Iran in the next few days.

Iran has threatened to answer with a deadly retaliatory strike against Israel and all U.S. interests in the region. The U.S. has put its military bases in the Persian Gulf on high alert. They are asking all non-military American citizens to evacuate immediately.

Sources indicate that Israel and Iran are preparing for Israel’s assault upon Iran’s nuclear facilities. It is believed that this Israeli attack on Iran will be met with fierce retaliation by China, Russia, Turkey, and other radical Islamic elements in the Middle East. This could change the balance of power in the Middle East. It could also trigger the Gog and Magog war mentioned in Ezekiel 38.

According to the Bible, any strike against Israel in these last days will be met with great force by the Holy One of Israel. In Isaiah 54:17, the Holy One of Israel declared, “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall arise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn.” Speaking to Israel about the last days, God has said, “Therefore fear thou not, O my servant Jacob, saith the LORD; neither be dismayed, O Israel: for, lo, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be in rest, and be quiet, and none shall make him afraid. For I am with thee, saith the LORD, to save thee: though I make a full end of all nations whither I have scattered thee, yet will I not make a full end of thee: but I will correct thee in measure, and will not leave thee altogether unpunished” (Jeremiah 30:10-11).

The fireworks that will lead up to the Tribulation are about to begin. Be ready for the shout that will take us out!

Iran Plans an Imminent Attack upon Israeli Military Sites

Iran has vowed to avenge Israels’ October 26 attack against its military sites in Iran. Iran’s leadership has stated that “the scope of Israel’s unprecedented October 26 retaliatory strikes was ‘too large to ignore.’ … IAF jets hit 20 sites in Iran in multiple waves, reportedly knocking out its air defenses and significantly setting back its missile production industry. The Israeli strikes reportedly also destroyed multiple radar systems required to guide the Islamic Republic’s ballistic missiles” (The Jewish Press, November 1, 2024).

It is expected that Iran’s attack on Israel will originate from Iraq. Israeli military leaders have announced, “If Iran makes the mistake of launching another missile barrage at Israel, we will once again know how to reach Iran, with capabilities that we did not even use this time, and strike very, very hard at both their capabilities and locations that we set aside for now” (The Jewish Press, November 1, 2024).

Friends, I believe we are about to witness the beginning of a great war in the Middle East that will lead to the wars mentioned in the Bible.  The stage is being prepared for the war mentioned in Ezekiel 38-39.  The actors of that evil coalition are about to march against Israel.

The Gathering of Gog and Magog?

According to Ezekiel 38, in the last days, a massive number of ground troops will gather on the Golan Heights in Syria for an invasion of Israel. They will include troops from Russia, Iran, Turkey, and other radical Islamic nations. This battle is called “the Gog and Magog War.” The following report indicates that since October 7th, troops are beginning to gather in this very same location for a ground invasion of Israel. Could this be the beginning of the gathering for Gog and Magog?

“The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), a research group associated with the Syrian opposition, this week reported that 700 pro-Iranian fighters have been deployed in the area adjoining the Golan Heights. The fighters, according to the SOHR report, are of “Syrian, Iraqi, Palestinian, and other nationalities.” They have been deployed in the countryside of Quneitra Province, the area immediately adjacent to the Golan Heights, and in ‘western Rif Dimashq and parts of western Deraa countryside.’” (November 25. 2023, Jerusalem Post online edition).
