Putin blasts Israel’s ‘disrespect of status-quo’ in call with Abbas

Putin phones Palestinian leader to express disapproval of Israel’s actions on Temple Mount as fallout from Lapid’s statement about Russian “war crimes” grows.

On the heels of a strongly worded letter to Prime Minister Naftali Bennett demanding that Israel transfer ownership of a church compound in Jerusalem to Russia, President Vladimir Putin phoned Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to slam the Israeli security forces’ recent actions on the Temple Mount.

According to a report from Russian state-owned news agency RIA, Putin discussed a number of subjects with Abbas.

As global food prices soar due to inflation, with the supply chain crisis sparked by the COVID pandemic and the war in Ukraine, Putin reportedly told Abbas that Palestinians will enjoy unfettered access to “Russian wheat, materials, and crops.”

PA-owned state news agency Wafa said that “Putin stressed Russia’s firm position in support of the rights of the Palestinian people, and that Russia will continue to …support…the Palestinian cause in all international forums.”

Wafa reported that Putin expressed his disapproval of Israel’s large-scale arrests of violent rioters on the Temple Mount, saying that he did not agree with “the Israeli practices that prevent worshippers from freely accessing the Al-Aqsa Mosque.”

Putin also was said to have criticized Israel for not “respecting the existing historical status quo at Al-Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalem.”

Moscow has long maintained warm ties with the PA. Dozens of Palestinians in Bethlehem staged a modest pro-Putin rally in Bethlehem’s central square at the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

After Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid slammed Putin for committing “war crimes” in Ukraine, in a major departure from Israeli government policy of remaining neutral during the conflict, Russia fired back with a harsh statement.

“The Israeli Foreign Minister’s statements evoke regret and rejection,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Saturday.

“There was a poorly camouflaged attempt to take advantage of the situation in Ukraine to distract the international community’s attention from one of the oldest unsettled conflicts — the Palestine-Israeli one,” the ministry claimed.

Russia warns Israel: Hand over Jerusalem compound immediately

After conflicting decisions by Israeli prime ministers, Putin demands ownership of church compound in Jerusalem be officially transferred to Russia.

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett must immediately follow through on a promise given to Russia by his predecessor, Benjamin Netanyahu, and transfer ownership of a Jerusalem church to Moscow, wrote Vladimir Putin in a strongly worded letter to Israel’s premier on Sunday.

The timing of the demand is significant, as it came shortly after Foreign Minister Yair Lapid harshly criticized the Russian invasion of Ukraine, accusing Moscow of war crimes.

Israel also recently voted to remove Russia from the UN’s Human Rights Council, a move which sparked Russian officials to summon the Israeli ambassador in Moscow for a dressing down

The Alexander Nevsky Church, also known as the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, is a prominent holy site for the Russian Orthodox Church, located in the Christian Quarter in the Old City of Jerusalem.

During the Ottoman Empire era, the site was registered as belonging to the “Russian kingdom.” In 2017, Russia requested that Israel officially transfer ownership of the church and its compound to Moscow.

Initially, the Israeli government held that such a change in ownership would need to be investigated and decided upon by the Supreme Court.

But after Israeli-American Na’ama Issachar was imprisoned for traveling through a Russian airport with a small amount of cannabis in her possession in 2020, then-premier Netanyahu agreed to formally return the site back to Moscow.

Israeli land registry records were changed to state that the compound belonged to Russia later that year.

However, after taking office, Bennett reportedly ordered that the decision be reversed and the matter once again be determined by the Supreme Court.

Up until recently, it had appeared that a Russia was willing to wait until the case played out in an Israeli court, but Lapid’s comments make have ended Moscow’s patience.

“Now we are fighting for the return of the Compound, and it is very difficult: we were almost there, we worked for five years, we found all the historical documents, but the situation with Ukraine occurred, and Israel behaved as it often does – playing with both sides, playing ping pong with everyone,” Sergei Stepashin, who is currently visiting Israel and manages Russia’s properties in the Middle East, told media.

Praying to “the Great Queer One”

The Bible predicted that when the end comes, the professing church would depart from biblical doctrines and replace them with the doctrine of demons (1 Timothy 4:1).  We are literally seeing this take place at this moment.  According to a report from World Net Daily, Duke Chapel at Duke Divinity School has committed the ultimate blasphemy.

Writing for World Net Daily, Bob Unruh writes, “A report from Hope Rawlson at the blog for the Institute on Religion & Democracy has documented that students at Duke Divinity School, which is affiliated with the United Methodist Church, have held a “Pride” worship service to pray to the “Great Queer One.”

She revealed, “Divinity Pride, a student group affirming the ‘dignity, faithfulness, and strength of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer/Questioning, Intersex, Asexual, and gender/sexuality non-conforming Christians,'” held the event.

The posting explained, “Criticizing the church, Justis Mitchell, a first-year M.Div student, stated, ‘In the pews we listen to the pastor who preaches about commandments, condemning those who disobey, predicating a future of fire and turmoil.’ However, Mitchell believes that ‘We can become holy, we can become worthy, we can become valued…even as we remain queer, even as we discover our own queer God whose presence is within these walls.'”

This is compelling evidence that a portion of the American population has reached the spiritual point of no return.  When a culture travels down the path of suppressing the truth of Scripture and replaces them with unholy, wicked, and immoral practices, they have become “fools” (Romans 1:22).  They have “become vain [worthless] in their imaginations, and their foolish heart [conscience] [has been] darkened” (Romans 1:21).    

Concerning these people in this wicked culture, the Bible says, “And [they]changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen” (Romans 1:23-25). 

The following context of Romans 1 makes it emphatically clear that the spiritual point of no return is reached when a culture openly and unapologetically embraces and support homosexuality and lesbianism.  The character of the people living in this kind of culture is exposed in Romans 1:29-32.  Reading this character list is like listening to the daily news reports in America and around the world.

Some would call what I have said “hate speech.”  However, I view this as a warning from a holy God.  I care enough about the people living around me to warn them of the consequence of their sin.  If I fail to do this, then I really do not love them.  The message I share is from a heart of love because I do not want anyone to die in their sin and go to a place of eternal damnation.  Unless these people repent and accept the holy Son of God and His holy standards, they will perish in their sins.

The true church must be bold, compassionate, and caring enough to proclaim the truth!  Jesus warned His disciples to not seek the friendship of the world because it will temp us to remain silent and to not warn them of the consequences of their sin.  Read what Jesus had to say in John 15:18-25. 

Observation:  Perhaps the mascot of Duke University is more fitting than we realize.

The Approaching Digital Currency

According to the prophetic Scriptures,when the Antichrist comes to power at the mid-point of the 7-year Tribulation, he will force a digital currency upon all nations (Revelation 13:7).  He implements his dictatorial rule over the world by forcing them to adopt his international economic policy.  First, he will call for every person to receive a personal identification number that will reflect the numerical value of his name – 666 (Revelation 13:16-18).  This “mark” [Greek word means “to cut” – could probably be a reference to the injection of a computer chip) will be placed in each person’s right hand or under the skin of their forehead (Revelation 13:16). [Note that these are the two places that a person’s skin is usually exposed when people are dressed.  So, it would ensure that the device would not be concealed or interfered with while being covered with clothing.]  Any person who refuses to accept the economic policy of the Antichrist will not be able to participate in any global economic transaction (Revelation 13:17).  This will be the global dictator’s way of controlling the world population.

While the Tribulation Period has not yet begun, we are witnessing the policies and technologies that are setting the stage for the fulfillment of this prophecy. For several decades we have been witnessing the movement toward a global digital currency.  It is now apparent that we are very close to that time when it will be introduced.  This will be the policies and technology that the Antichrist will adopt when he comes to power.

According to Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz at Israel 365 News, the World Economic Forum has called for the adoption of a one-world currency.  “Dr. Phillipa ‘Pippa’ Malmgren, a technology entrepreneur and economist, spoke at the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum being held in Davos, Switzerland, this week [March 28-April 1, 2022], dropping a bombshell prediction that the world is well on its way to implementing an electronic banking system that would open every transaction of every person to government scrutiny. … [This] means digital … it means having an almost perfect record of every single transaction that happens in the economy, which will give us far greater clarity over what’s going on. …

“Unlike current cryptocurrencies, the system Malmgren describes will give the central banks complete control over people’s money. The banks will be able to track every transaction and even control how it is spent, blocking it from being transferred to people or organizations it deems undesirable. … Implementing such a global digital currency system would require the establishment of a global digital currency and a global digital identity for every person on the planet. … The practical difference in switching from what we are using now, which is mostly digital anyway; to central bank digital banking is that cash will be outlawed. When you outlaw cash, every single thing becomes trackable. Nothing is too small” (Israel 365 News, April 5, 2022).

10,000 Ukrainian Jews Arrive in Israel

Since Russia invaded Ukraine in February, 10,000 Jews have already arrived in Israel.  Israel is expecting thousands more to arrive in the next few months.  This is the beginning of the great influx of Jews to come home from the nations in the last days.  According to the ancient prophet Ezekiel, the future Russia invasion of Israel will set in motion a large exodus of all the Jewish people from the nations back to their homeland.  In the context of the Gog and Mago war, God said, “Then shall they know that I am the LORD their God, which caused them to be led into captivity among the heathen: but I have gathered them into their own land, and have left none of them anymore there” (Ezekiel 39:28).

The Imminent Threat of Global War

Our world is at the crossroads of a very critical moment in history. “The Bulletin of Atomic Scientists is keeping the Doomsday Clock set at 100 seconds to midnight — the closest it has ever been to apocalypse” (www.news.yahoo.com).  The Russian invasion of Ukraine and Vladmir Putin’s threat to use nuclear weapons is moving the world closer to the possibility of a horrific development that would threaten the lives of millions of people across Europe and around the world.

In addition to this war is the concern that Communist China is threatening to invade Taiwan, and possibility Japan.  This power move by China has been expected for several years now.  The recent agreement between Russia and China indicates that these two global forces of anarchy are planning to challenge the old-world order that recognizes the United States as the dominant leader.  Also, in recent days, Iran has attacked the U.S. consulate in Erbil, Iraq.  Unfortunately, the weakness of America, especially demonstrated by the embarrassing departure from Afghanistan, is fueling these bold moves by evil tyrants around the world. 

Many world leaders fear that an evil emerging new world order is taking shape to challenge the dominance of the United States and the West.  This evil order includes the alliance of China, Russia, Iran, and Turkey. 

Israeli leaders continue to warn the world that the greatest threat is not China or Russia, but the radical leaders of the Islamic world in Iran and Turkey.  These leaders are motivated by a passionate religious fervor.  They believe their country is destined to bring world-wide destruction that will prepare the way for their coming messiah.  Muslim terrorists have demonstrated they are willing to sacrifice themselves for this cause.  In contrast, Russia and China seem to be rational actors on the global stage.  They want power, prestige, and wealth.  This is not accomplished by destroying the world.

Perhaps the greatest threat to the world is the possible development of a nuclear Iran.  Everyone agrees that Iran is enriching uranium far beyond what is necessary for peaceful purposes.   The Iranians want a nuclear bomb to blackmail the world into submission to their god – Allah.  Should they develop a nuclear arsenal, it would set in motion a nuclear arms race in the Middle East, one of the most volatile regions on the planet.  In recent days, President Biden has attempted to contact the Persian Gulf Arab leaders to seek their assistance with the current oil crisis.   These leaders have refused to answer Biden’s phone calls.  They refuse to talk to a person who is aiding their enemy – Iran. 

At the top of the Iran’s hit list is the nation of Israel.  They have verbally made that clear for several decades.  Consequently, Israel has vowed that it will act alone if necessary to halt Iran’s march toward a nuclear bomb.  They consider this to be an existential threat.  This could set in motion a major war in the Middle East.

It is both foolish and alarming that the Biden administration is currently acquiring the services of Russia to encourage Iran to once again accept a nuclear agreement that would supposedly temporarily limit Iran’s ability to have a nuclear bomb.  This proposed agreement would allow Iran to continue to advance their nuclear capabilities, remove economic sanctions, and award them with billions of dollars.  Everyone knows that Iran cannot be trusted.  They have demonstrated they will not abide by any agreement.  Furthermore, giving them a windfall of billions of dollars will financially fuel their terrorist campaign in the Middle East and around the world.  The recent Iranian attack upon the U.S. consulate in Iraq demonstrates that Iran considers the U.S. to be an enemy.  It is foolish to negotiate with evil enemies who demonstrate their hatred for you.   

The Biden administration and those in Europe who agree with him are acting recklessly and placing the world in grave danger.  The collapse of the West and the bold movements of evil nations in the east are preparing the world for the formation of the kingdom of the Antichrist that will rule the world during the Tribulation. 

At some point in time, Russia and its coalition partners mentioned in Ezekiel 38 – Iran, Turkey, Libya, and Sudan – will make their move against Israel.  Perhaps this will be triggered by Israel’s attempt to destroy Iran’s nuclear march toward a nuclear weapon. 

Jesus said that the period prior to the Tribulation would be a time of “wars and rumors of war” (Matthew 24:6).  That time has arrived.  So, “be listening for the shout that will take us out!”
